Joey Chang, M.Ed, RCC

Joey is thrilled to be a member of the Imagine Counselling team. He is a full-time elementary school teacher with a passion in working with individuals of all ages.

 

As a new immigrant growing up in Canada, Joey recognizes the importance that diversity can bring to one’s identity. He approaches each client with a genuine enthusiasm to hear their story on who they are and who they wish to be. He believes understanding one’s community is key to discovering how we are shaped and seeks to help clients who are having difficulties with anxiety, stress and sense of self.
 

With 10 years of experience in the school system, Joey has a profound respect for the power of connection. From his extensive background in working with children with exceptionalities, Joey believes in meeting people where they are at. He advocates that people do the best they can with what they have and seeks to support people who are struggling to find their voice, with empathy
and respect. His aim as a counsellor, is to walk alongside individuals amidst their challenges through a person-centered and collaborative approach with an emphasis on exploring attachment theory and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Joey is accepting new clients in person.

 

Joey is available on Sundays but is currently full. 

 

Joey provides counselling services in English with consultations in Mandarin and Taiwanese.
